Over the years our volunteers have been able to verify the importance of restoring the smile beyond the benefit of oral health.
Many of the patients seen through +Q 1 Sonrisa had lost parts of teeth, and their smile. Thanks to our program, many people in Guinea have smiled again.
The goal of the +Q 1 Sonrisa Program is to train local staff such as dentists and dental hygienists to help people who have lost their smile to regain it. So far one dental hygienist has been fully trained and there are already three more in training.
Through an agreement with SOS Aldeas Infantiles-Equatorial Guinea, we have created a dental unit based on material donations, equipping dental procedures.
Additionally, training and awareness campaigns for dental hygiene and prevention of tooth loss are being carried out throughout the community, explaining how good oral hygiene and healthy eating affect oral health.
