Phase 1 of the +Q1 Seed campaign

The +Q1 Seed Campaign includes two phases and we are excited that phase one is complete. It has been an unforgettable experience. The Medical and Dental Congress, organized by our organization in cooperation with the European Baptist Mission, the National University of Equatorial Guinea and the University of Barcelona, was excellent. The Congress included a variety of seminars, workshops and surgical procedures that were televised live during the conference. Attendance exceeded our expectations and we were pleased to welcome almost 100 participants.

During the campaign, we completed about 40 ophthalmological surgeries and cared for many other patients who needed ophthalmological attention. At the same time, we saw about 200 patients who were screened for heart disease, high blood pressure and HIV. We also kicked off a project to help deaf children, which was very gratifying. We provided audiology screenings for many more children than we expected.

We also outlined steps needed to create an association of parents with deaf children, which will be lead by the parents.

In addition, we were able to follow-up with several patients treated in the PAMI Project. It was a joy to spend time with them, talk about how they are doing and to see how their health and quality of life has improved.
