+QS hosts second volunteer training

On February 23rd, the city of Barcelona was blanketed with snow, but nothing could keep us from getting together for the second annual volunteer meeting held at the 22@ locale. We met at 10 am, just when the sun began to break through the clouds.

We began the morning with a review of our projects so that everyone could watch our new videos and give us their feedback. Our volunteers play a very valuable role as members of our organization. Everyone contributes something important and helps us improve our ministry.

We had the opportunity to hear from two representatives of Infancia Solidaria. One of them, a visually impaired woman, talked about how she serves as a volunteer and how her visual impairment helps her to understand the difficulties other people face. We all learned so much as she shared her personal experience.

After a short break, we continued with a creative learning project. We painted together and it was so satisfying to see our volunteers creating art together and painting without fear of making mistakes. This creative project helped us learn more about how to be open to meeting and understanding people from different cultures.

We then invited our volunteers to take a look at new projects undertaken by other NGOs and asked them to brainstorm with us to think about new project ideas and new ways to secure funding for them in the next few years.

Our sincere thanks to each and every attendee who made this volunteer gathering a great success. Thank you for volunteering with +QS. We look forward to our next volunteer training and hope to involve more and more people as we continue to grow and expand our ministry.
